Technology can make treatment easier and more accurate for our patients. Any time we can improve the care we provide by investing in technology for our patients, we feel it is important to do so. Here are some of the technological features you'll find at The Little Tooth Company.
Intraoral Cameras
Intraoral cameras are small cameras we can place inside the mouth to take digital images or videos of specific teeth. This is a valuable tool when describing a condition, explaining treatment, or showing parents exactly what we see! We also use intraoral cameras to monitor changes in oral health, detect decay, and monitor pathology.
Digital Dental X-Rays
Digital x-rays are ultra low in radiation, making them very safe for regular use. Often times children (and adults) with smaller mouths find it challenging to take x-rays. To make things more comfortable for our patients we have several ways to obtain images to ensure a healthy smile.
- Digital sensors – These provide highest resolution images valuable in diagnosis.
- Phosphor plates – Phosphor plates are useful for some patients whose mouths are too small or who are not good candidates for digital sensors.
- External bitewings – These are the images that are the easiest because the patient simply stands still and nothing goes in the mouth!
Loupes and Headlights
It requires precision to keep tiny teeth healthy. By using loupes (magnifiers) and headlights, we can see your child's teeth in greater detail. We don't mind that they make us look goofy; healthy smiles are more important!
BPA-Free Fillings and White Crowns
All our composite fillings and sealants are BPA-free, providing the highest level of safety for your child.
The Little Tooth Company offers white crowns, and we are one of the few pediatric offices to do so. Some of the benefits of white crowns include their strength and esthetics.
