Comprehensive Exam
At The Little Tooth Company, we welcome kids of all ages to our dental office. We have a fun environment that children appreciate, and we look forward to meeting the youngest members of your family. We enjoy developing relationships with kids and watching them grow. From toddlers to teens, we develop preventive-based treatment plans to keep their growing smiles healthy.
Early Childhood Dental Exams
The American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommend that your child have their first dental exam by their first birthday. This early childhood dental exam gives us an opportunity to evaluate your child’s development and go over some important home care habits you can implement to keep your child’s teeth healthy. Proper nutrition, home care, and controlling bad habits all play an integral part of your child’s future health.
As Your Child Grows
As your child’s attention span allows and they acquire more teeth, we will provide a comprehensive exam of their teeth, gums, and growth to make sure they are healthy and on track.
Digital dental x-rays, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants can offer added protection from decay. We will evaluate your child based on their individual needs. It is also helpful to note any growth conditions that may benefit from early orthodontic intervention. Treatment of bite issues at an early age can help reduce treatment times later.
Teen Oral Health Exams
We recommend that your teen maintain a regular dental exam schedule, despite the fact that this is a busy time in their lives. Now is an important time to pay extra attention to prevention.
Because they have all of their adult teeth and are nearing the end of their major growth cycles, it is a good time to see if they need braces. We offer orthodontics and will develop a treatment plan to protect their adult teeth. Addressing misalignment at this age is beneficial before unnecessary wear, jaw problems, or cosmetic issues arise.
Sometimes, teens experience challenges with their wisdom teeth and require treatment to protect their bites and the alignment of their teeth. We will evaluate their wisdom teeth and determine whether they may become problematic.
We offer sports mouth guards to protect kids during their many activities. Sports such as football, baseball, hockey, wrestling, and lacrosse can cause permanent damage to your teen’s smile. A mouth guard is a small investment that offers big protection.

Our three kids actually look forward to seeing Dr. Jay... He is the best!! Dr. Jay has a gentle way about him, that makes all of the kids feel safe and comfortable. Most importantly, he does an amazing job with their teeth, and getting the kids to follow his "recommendations" about flossing, brushing, etc... Dr. Jay also takes/spends extra time with one of our kids, that has some "sensory" challenges, and he completely turned him around, and now our son is happy to go and see Dr. Jay, as he trusts him. Dr. Jay always takes the time to walk our son through everything he does, so he feels so comfortable with Dr. Jay!
